Privacy Policy
PlainTerms ("we", "our", or "us") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and how we protect it when you use our website and services.
PlainTerms provides automated document analysis and simplified explanations using artificial intelligence. By using our service, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.
Information We Collect
Account Information
When you create an account, we collect your email address. Authentication currently uses email and password. In the future, we may offer login through third-party authentication providers such as Google.
Documents You Upload
When you upload a document for analysis, the document is temporarily stored in secure cloud storage (Amazon S3) and processed to generate an AI-powered analysis.
After the analysis process is completed, the uploaded document is automatically deleted from storage. PlainTerms does not permanently store the original documents uploaded by users.
Analysis Results
The analysis results generated by the service may be stored in our database so that you can access them later. These results remain available until you choose to delete them.
AI Processing
PlainTerms uses artificial intelligence services provided by third-party providers. To generate analysis results, the content of uploaded documents may be securely transmitted to external AI providers such as Anthropic.
These providers process the content solely for the purpose of generating the requested analysis. PlainTerms does not use uploaded documents or analysis results to train AI models.
AI-generated outputs are provided for informational purposes only and may not always be accurate or complete. Users should independently verify important information.
Payment Processing
Payments for paid features are processed by our payment provider Paddle. PlainTerms does not store full payment card information. Payment details are handled directly by Paddle according to their privacy policies.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand how users interact with the service. This may include information such as pages visited, browser type, device information, and approximate geographic location.
Cookies
PlainTerms uses cookies for the following purposes:
- Essential cookies — used to maintain login sessions and core functionality.
- Analytics cookies — used to understand usage patterns through tools such as Google Analytics.
You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings.
Data Retention
Uploaded documents are deleted automatically after the analysis process is completed. Analysis results are stored until you choose to delete them.
We retain personal data only for as long as necessary to provide the service and comply with legal obligations.
Data Security
We implement reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect your information. However, no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Your Rights
You can delete analysis results or your entire account at any time through your account settings. If your account is deleted, associated personal data will also be removed from our systems.
You may also request deletion of your personal data by contacting us at support@plainterms.ai.
